About the Restaurant
The name O Asotos (“The Prodigal”) as a restaurant perhaps derives from the “fatted calf” offered by the unfortunate father to his son who “devoured his living with harlots,” and so on. Some might say, “it was good while it lasted,” yet in any case, the restaurant’s name—self-described (perhaps with a touch of self-irony) as Rogue Taverna—is certainly memorable.
This bistronomy-style venture by Michalis Merzenis opened at the end of last year, in the historic gastronomic neighborhood of Proskopon Square, aiming to offer “twisted Greek classic dishes made with carefully selected ingredients.”
